Council waives annual fee for Tipp Monroe Community Services

The Tipp City Council voted, 6-1, June 3 to waive a $10,000 yearly fee paid by Tipp Monroe Community Services for use of the Old Municipal Court on East Main Street. The nonprofit Community Services sought the waiver at least until it can get approval of a new tax levy because of loss of income from the state and Monroe Township. The agency provides a variety of services including coordinating recreation programs in the city. Councilman Bryan Budding voted “no,” arguing the council should not be giving away taxpayer money.
