A man whose vehicle caught fire after a crash has been pronounced dead at Upper Valley Medical Center, authorities say.
An autopsy will be conducted, and the individual did not appear to have burns on him.

Police said the man was driving with his mother as passenger and he may have suffered a medical emergency before crashing into another vehicle.
The man was at least in serious condition when he was taken to the Upper Valley Medical Center. It’s unclear if his condition is from the medical emergency or from injuries suffered when the vehicle erupted in flames.
The engine compartment of the vehicle was gutted from an apparent explosion.
Police tell us the first officers on scene were able to remove the man from the driver’s seat. The rescue may have happened just after flames were extinguished.

A male driver was seriously injured when the vehicle he was in caught fire in the engine compartment in the parking lot of Meijer, 1900 W. Main St., in Troy.
CareFlight was called to be on standby, but medics on the ground opted to transport the victim to the Upper Valley Medical Center by life squad.
Crime scene tape is going up around the scene, where the vehicle shows the front engine compartment heavily damaged.
There were initial reports the vehicle exploded and erupted in flames.

A medic that responded to a reported car fire at the Meijer store in Troy is en route to the hospital and CareFlight, which was in standby status, has been canceled.

Crews in Troy are responding to a reported car fire at the Meijer store, 1900 W. Main St.
The fire was reported shortly after 11 a.m. Initial reports indicated there was an explosion and the vehicle had erupted in flames.
