UPDATE @ 11:59 p.m.: Frontier Communications restored all services shortly after 9 p.m. ET., company spokeswoman Emily Tantare said.

Customers in parts of Tipp City, Troy, Trotwood, St. Mary, Celina, Oxford, Hicksville, Willshirt and Ohio City are affected, a company representative said via email. There is no timetable being put to the restoration of service.

According to the company representative, a third-party construction contractor severed fiber-optic and copper telecommunications cables between Ohio City and Willshire, Ohio, leading to the disruption of landline phone, Internet and 911 service.

911 calls are being rerouted and Frontier has notified and is working with affected emergency services managers.

Frontier customer Ron Swiatek, who lives in Jefferson Twp., said his landline phone service has been out since noontime.

He checked his landline phone service just a bit after 9 p.m. and found it has been restored.

Frontier Communications is the eighth-largest multi-channel video service provider in the United States by total subscribers (961,000), according to information about the company found online.
