Officials determine suspicious package in Trotwood not explosive, not a danger

UPDATE @ 7:15 p.m.: A container within a container was found on the sidewalk in front of a house on Natchez Avenue and authorities determined the containers were not explosive or a danger.

The Dayton Bomb Squad decided not to remove them for detonation and had another professional remove the items.

Authorities did not say who that professional would be.

No word on what, if anything, was found inside the containers.

INITIAL REPORT

Trotwood police and the Dayton Bomb Squad are investigating a suspicious package found at a residence in the 4500 block of Natchez Avenue in Trotwood.

Police worked the initial call just before 3 p.m. and about 4:30 p.m. called for the special response.
