A Dayton man was indicted Wednesday who is accused of shooting and killing a 32-year-old woman in front of their 4-year-old son, Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. announced.

Gregory E. Blanton, 33, is accused of shooting 32-year-old Krysten Connally five times in her head May 9 in the driveway of a home in the 3200 block of Hillpoint Lane in Dayton, according to a release from the prosecutor’s office.

Witnesses and neighbors reported that the two argued before the shooting, and that Blanton was Connally’s ex-boyfriend. Their child is in the care of family members, Dayton police Lt. Jason Hall said last week.

Blanton left after the shooting, but turned himself in to police later that day.
