Dayton man killed riding bicycle in Harrison Twp.

A man was struck and killed New Year's Day morning while he was riding a bicycle on Wagner Ford Road in Harrison Twp.

Wilbur Benjamin Vanwey, 47, of Dayton, was riding northbound on Wagner Ford in the 5100 block when a car struck the back of his bicycle, causing the 47-year-old to be ejected from the bicycle.

The crash happened at 2:40 a.m.

Vanwey ended up landing on the hood of the car and fell to the ground, the report read.

Vanwey was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

The driver of the car, a 26-year-old Dayton man, was not injured in the crash.

No citations or charges were listed on the crash report.
