Dayton National Cemetery honoring fallen military on Memorial Day

The Dayton National Cemetery is hosting a Memorial Day service this morning.

The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the cemetery at 4100 W. Third St. The gates to the cemetery from West Third close at 9:30 a.m., but shuttles will be available, organizers said.

The ceremony will include an address by Sugarcreek Twp. resident James “Pee Wee” Martin, who served in the 101st Airborne Division, and a wreath-laying ceremony featuring the families of five service members honored, organizers said.

Music will be provided by the Spirit of Freedom and the United States Air Force Brass Quintet, organizers said.
