Dayton police seeking information on suspect in attempted armed robbery

Dayton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of an attempted armed robbery in a downtown parking lot.

The suspect reportedly pointed a gun at a woman while attempting to rob her in a parking lot behind the Masque Nightclub on Aug. 16.

The woman was able to force her car door open, striking the suspect who then ran off, according to a police report.

The suspect is described as a male in his mid-40s with short hair. He was wearing an over-sized blue shirt and jeans.
