Dayton teachers protest at convocation

Dayton Public Schools teachers were seen gathered outside the district's convocation this morning for a protest.

The Dayton Education Association members wore red and held signs outside UD Arena around 8 a.m.

Sandra Gavin, negotiations chair for the union, said the protest was to "show solidarity" amid contract negotiations with the district.

Superintendent Lori Ward is set to address about 2,000 employees and guests during the event, according to an announcement about convocation from the school district.
