The Dayton Police Department officers were there as part of an investigation into an allegation of sexual assault. The detectives told us two adults live at the address, but they did not say whether the allegations involve the residents, who were not there when police were there collecting evidence.
According to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, a police officer-initiated call was made at the address about 10:30 a.m. for a "peace call," which a dispatch sergeant said involves giving people involved in conflict a chance to work things out peaceably.
The detectives returned to the address about 5:20 p.m. on a follow-up to the "peace call" and one of them described the house as being full of fleas, bedbugs, other insects and filth.
The house could be boarded up as soon as Wednesday, one of the detectives said.
We will continue pursuing this report and update it as we learn more details.
