UPDATE @ 7:30 p.m.: The drug bust on Marlowe Street in Trotwood is part of an ongoing federal investigation, said Kathy Woliung, public information officer, Cincinnati/Dayton office of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
She was not able to provide information beyond that confirmation.
At least one person has been taken into custody in a U.S. Postal Inspection Service investigation involving more than 4 pounds of narcotics mailed to a residence in Trotwood.
Agents with the federal law enforcement and security arm of the U.S. Postal Service and Drug Enforcement Administration agents have been in the 4300 block of Marlowe Street since before 6 p.m. Thursday.
All of the law enforcement personnel are undercover and did not want to be identified on camera or by name.
One of the postal service agents told us about the amount seized in the investigation and said it does not involve marijuana. He declined to say specifically what drug is the focus of the investigation.
We're working to learn more about the investigation and the person detained by authorities. Stay with whio.com for breaking news.
