Mudlick Tap House is scheduled to reopen for carryout and delivery on Friday, April 24.

A downtown Dayton pub will join the growing list of restaurants and taverns to reopen for carryout and delivery of food and drinks during the coronavirus pandemic and state-ordered shutdown of all dine-in service.

"It's been a long month, but we're getting closer to getting through all of this together!" the owners of Mudlick Tap House wrote in a post on the pub's Facebook page over the weekend. "We are excited to announce that we will be firing up the kitchen, shaking up the cocktails and will begin curbside pickup and in house delivery on Friday," April 24.

The pub, which opened in 2017 at 135 E. Second St., will offer ordering online or by phone, and will deliver within a five-mile radius, its owners said. Mudlick Tap House is not participating in any third-party delivery services, and will be using its own delivery drivers.

Mudlick Tap House co-founder Jennifer Dean told this news outlet this morning that if delivery goes well, the delivery radius may be expanded.

“With the governors lifting of the stay-at-home order beginning May 1st, we wanted to get back in the swing of things,” Dean said. “We will be offering a few family meals in addition to a limited menu, spirits, cocktails, bottles of wine, and growler fills.”

Dean and her fellow Mudlick Tap House co-founder, Forrest Williams, operated a beer-themed pub in Germantown for two years before opening the downtown Dayton location.

Mudlick joins a growing number of restaurants and doughnut shops deciding to reopen for carryout and delivery, after installing new safeguards and in some cases streamlining hours. Among those that returned to limited operations last week after being dormant were Club Oceano Seafood and Bar at The Greene Town Center, KD’s Kettering BBQ, Mr. Bourbon in Trotwood, Calypso Grill and Smokehouse in Yellow Springs, the Sunrise Café in Yellow Springs, Bear Creek Donuts in Miamisburg and the Donut Haus in Springboro. El Meson in West Carrollton has announced it will resume carryout and delivery on April 30.
