A driver escaped serious injury when an uprooted tree fell on his pickup truck as he drove down a Dayton road Friday morning.

Around 7:35 a.m., the large tree fell onto the truck in the 2100 block of Vance Road. The tree shattered the truck’s windshield, and the driver was initially trapped.
The driver, identified as Rich Weinel, said he was on his way to work when the crash happened. He said he felt very lucky to escape without injury.
