‘I don’t know how she got out of there,’ resident says of driver who ended up in Clark County creek

UPDATE @ 9:07 p.m. Brian Watson said he and his wife didn't know what to think when they heard a knock at the door. It was a young woman, barefoot, who had just driven her car off Crabill Road and into the North Fork Little Miami River at South Charleston.

Watson, who lives in the 3600 block of Crabill Road, said the woman was soaking wet and dripping blood on the front porch.

"She said 'I need help,' " Watson said. He and his wife wrapped her in blankets, mended her bloody hand, kept her calm and called 9-1-1.

"I don't how she got out of there.... I don't know how she made it," Watson said.

She may have crawled across the back seat and out the back window, he said authorities at the scene told him, noting the walk from the creek to his front door was about a half-mile.

"That's scary to see something like that. I'm glad we were there [at home]," Watson said.
