For some, the term ”children’s theater” conjures up images of school plays or church pageants. However, those attending “Sherlock Holmes,” at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays from Dec. 4-14, will find a polished cast, under the direction of Teresa Connair of Dayton, and a professional set, designed by Bruce Brown of Dayton.
The cast and crew of more than 30 will present a high quality production teeming with mystery, romance, action, danger and laughter when they present an adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective story. Tim Kelly directed the production.
Alice, portrayed by Zoe Grieze of Beavercreek, has letters written by a dead girl. Professor Moriarty, played by Troy Gould of Kettering, wants those letters.
Sherlock Holmes, played by Jared Sellers of Beavercreek, not only wants the letters but also wants to keep them out of Moriarity’s hands.
The cast also includes Beavercreek residents Maria Schlegel, Patrick Breitenstein, Katlyn Tilt, Sarah Sellers, Kieran Smith, Makenna Tracy, Anna Schlegel, Katherine Toronto, Patrick Breitenstein, Matthew Sellers, Lindsey Engle, Lorrin Bush, Jacob Anderson and Maddy Swanson.
Fairborn sisters Melissa and Sarah Conrad are in the cast as is Jasmine Moses of Xenia, Destre Inlow and Kyle Mercuri of Kettering, Katie Goralski of Miamisburg, Stephanie Snyder of Troy and Katie Wilhelm of Dayton.
Beavercreek Community Theatre is located in the former Lofino’s grocery store at 3868 Dayton-Xenia Road, which is now the Lofino Adult Enrichment and Cultural Arts Center, the home of both the theater and the Beavercreek Senior Center.
