Firefighters responded to the one-story structure at 324 Warder St. shortly after 2:30 A.M.
They say the building, owned by Kapp Construction, Inc., appears to be a total loss.
Company office manager Steve Midgley said the building is used mostly to store building materials left over from construction projects. He added a damage estimate is not yet available.
Midgley inidcated no one was working at the building and no one was injured. It is the only warehouse owned by the company in Springfield.
Firefighters said the building had already suffered heavy damage when they arrived.
The Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
