A Dayton firefighter apparently suffered a hand injury Wednesday night while helping to put out a fire in a dwelling at South Broadway and West Fifth streets.
Crews were dispatched at about 10:13 p.m. to that address on a report of a working fire at a two-story, wood frame structure. News Center 7 was given to understand that there was a large amount of smoke in the structure.
There was no word on whether the structure was occupied or what might have caused the fire.
The firefighter who was injured was not identified by name.
