Firefighters battle house fire in Troy

UPDATE @7:50 a.m.

Fire officials said two adults and four children were lucky to escape a house fire without injury this morning.

Smoke detectors were in the house in the 100 block of North Madison Street in Troy, but none were going off when Troy firefighters arrived to the scene, officials said.

The fire started in an upstairs bedroom, but it’s unknown how the blaze.

The American Red Cross has been requested to assist with the family.

Firefighters in Troy have responded to a house fire in the 100 block of North Madison Street Monday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the house around 6:30 a.m. Monday on reports of smoke and flames showing from the house.

There have been no reports of any injuries, but two people are reported displaced by the fire.
