“We’re in a great area with a lot of foot traffic and drive-by traffic,” Snively said. “With the growth of the community and the new marketplace, the southern end of Centerville is expanding fast.”
The gym is part of a Minnesota-based chain that now operates 2,000 gyms across the country and abroad. Members who sign up are given a key fob which allows them to key in 24 hours a day, and at any of the gym’s locations.
Opening at 1027 South Main St., the gym will be located on the site of a former Hollywood Video store.
“We take a lot of pride in the fact that people with busy lifestyles want to get in and get out,” said Snively, a former high school teacher and athletic coach. “They want to walk right in, do the workout that they want and be on their way.”
Anytime Fitness has 10 locations in the Dayton area, including in Springboro, Lebanon, Springfield, Vandalia, Tipp City and Piqua. A West Carrollton location opened earlier this year.
“It’s a comfortable safe place to work out no matter what your needs are,” Snivley said.
The gym will offer personal training as well as cardio and weightlifting equipment, as well as group fitness classes for Zumba, yoga, spinning and Fitness on Request, a kiosk allowing individuals and small groups to participate in virtual classes if they don’t feel comfortable in a group setting.
Gym memberships are on sale, and the gym is expected to open in mid to late February 2013, Snively said.
