Former CEO of Jack’s Aquarium, Beavercreek alum dies at 59

BEAVERCREEK — Richard Brenner, recently retired as chief executive officer of Jack’s Aquarium and Pets, died Thursday, Jan. 14, at age 59.

Brenner was a 1968 Beavercreek High School graduate, lived in Beavercreek, and had the family business headquartered there.

Jack’s Aquarium and Pets, started in 1950 by Richard’s parents, Jack and Margie, has grown to 27 locations, including six in the immediate Dayton area.

Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at Tobias Funeral Home’s Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road. The family will also receive friends Monday before the 11 a.m. Mass at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive in Kettering.
