UPDATE @ 4:43 p.m.

One firefighter was overcome by the heat at a house fire today in the 400 block of Kristine Lane in Franklin.

No one was in the home when a neighbor heard a loud boom and saw flames at the home and called 9-1-1 at approximately 3:17 p.m.

The injured firefighter was treated at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Witnesses tell us the home was engulfed in flames before crews arrived.

EARLIER

Black smoke continues to pour from a house fire in the 400 block of Kristine Lane in Franklin.

Franklin firefighters responded around 3:20 p.m. to the report of a home engulfed in flames.

Flames appeared to be out about 30 minutes later, but smoke was continuing to rise from the structure.
