Woman accused in stabbing is taken to jail, released without charges hours later

UPDATE @ 10 a.m.: No charges were filed against a 22-year-old Dayton woman accused of stabbing a man she said is the father of her children.

According to online jail records, Brittany Poole was released the same day Dayton police took her into custody on July 8.

INITIAL REPORT: A Dayton woman was locked out of a house in her underwear after stabbing her boyfriend Sunday, according to a Dayton police report.

Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Mount Crest Court at 12:09 a.m. on reports of a stabbing.

On scene, officers witnessed Brittany Poole, 22, attempting to get back into the residence and looking through the window, according to the report.

Poole reportedly stabbed the male victim, who told police he was bleeding from his chest. Children were present inside the house, according to the report. Both Poole and the victim were reportedly intoxicated.

Police seized a bread knife and a steak knife from Poole. She was arrested and processed at Montgomery County Jail but has been released, according to the county jail. She is charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.

The extent of the male’s injuries are unknown.
