Goodwill store to open in April

LEBANON — A long-delayed Goodwill store will finally reopen in Lebanon next month, officials announced this week.

The Ohio Valley Goodwill will open a store on April 22 at 1161 E. Main St. A ribbon cutting will be held at 8:45 a.m. and the store will open to the public at 9 a.m.

Goodwill’s mission is to assist handicap individuals, most commonly through providing jobs in retail stores that sell gently used goods at a discount price. Goodwill also provides outreach services to individuals with severe disabilities through its adult day support program.

Lebanon has not had a Goodwill since 2007 when a store operated by Ohio Valley Goodwill , based in Cincinnati, closed its downtown store. The new facility was delayed by “construction related issues” according to Sharon Hannon, a marketing specialist for Ohio Valley Goodwill.

A second Goodwill store, operated by Dayton-based Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley, is scheduled to be opened on U.S. 42 near Walmart later this year.
