Greene County health inspections

The following are summaries of Ohio standard inspection reports on file from the Greene County Combined Health District, from Dec. 26-30. District information is available online at www.gcchd.org/inspections.

Speed Zone Carry Out

1983 Bellbrook Ave., Xenia

Date of inspection: Dec. 27

Violations: Facility did not have a written procedure and PPE on site to satisfy this rule. Gave PIC handout to assist. Have completed prior to next inspection.

Gave PIC handout to assist with training of staff and requirement to have signoff sheet on site upon inspection.

Found the cabinets under the Pepsi machine and frozen drinks soiled with syrup and debris. Clean the interior of the cabinets to prevent contamination.

Found a tray holding donuts cracked and repaired with tape. Remove the tray and obtain a new one. Do not use tape in food areas as it can hold bacteria and transfer to food.

Found no soap at the hand sink by the 3 compartment sink. Provide soap at handsink.

Found no paper towels in the employee restroom. Provide paper towels.

Comments: Discussed covering soiled linens to prevent attraction of fruit flies.

Discussed cleaning and sanitizing of new Taylor machines.

Re-model to take place in 2017.

Dollar Tree

1972 Harner Drive, Xenia

Date of inspection: Dec. 27

Violations: Facility does not have a written procedure and PPE to meet this requirement. Gave PIC handout to assist. Have completed prior to next inspection.

Found the facility did not have a signoff sheet where employees have been trained regarding symptoms and the 13 reportable illnesses. Gave PIC handout to assist. Have completed by next inspection.

Found eggs for sale that have a use by date of 12/25/16. Recommend you pull these from sale.

Found shelving under shredded cheese and some frozen foods in need of cleaning to remove food crumbs.

Found no handwashing signage in mens room.

Found the womens room did not have a covered receptacle. Obtain lid for trash can or provide another can with a lid.

Floors throughout the facility need cleaned. At this time, staff is unable to get to the mop sink as there is an excess amount of stock blocking the aisles in the back room. Clear paths and mop floors daily.

Comments: Contact local fire inspector to discuss back room overstock and lack of aisle and exit egress.

United Dairy Farmers

340 W. Second St., Xenia

Date of inspection: Dec. 28

Violations: Found the facility did not have a written procedure and the proper PPE to meet this requirement. Gave PIC handout to assist. Have completed by next inspection.

PIC was unable to show in a verifiable manner that all staff has been trained on the symptoms and 13 reportable illnesses. Gave PIC handout to assist with training.

Found packaged motor oil and packaged candy stored improperly in the rear storage shelving where contamination could occur. Store all candy and food on the shelf over the motor oil.

Found the walls around the mop sink area in need of being repaired and painted to become smooth and easily cleanable.

Found further cleaning is required on the ceiling in the walkin refrigerator, around fan fronts and on the metal shelving holding the lunch meat packages.
