Project Feeder Watch continues Saturday
Greene County Parks & Trails, along with Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology, is continuing Project Feeder Watch from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays, Dec. 5 and Dec. 19, at the Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Road, Beavercreek.
Along with the naturalist staff, participants will be monitoring the types and numbers of birds staying in Greene County during the winter months. Feeder Watch data helps scientists track movements of winter bird populations and long-term trends in bird distribution and abundance.
Participants will learn about rare or unusual birds that do not normally overwinter in Ohio, as well as learning more about woodpeckers, finches, cardinals and other feeder birds. Binoculars are recommended.
The event is free, but donations will be accepted.
