The U.S. Air Force Band of Flight “Plays Las Vegas” at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 8, at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, 1100 Spaatz St. The performance will include a special tribute to Glenn Miller, who organized the Major Glenn Miller Army Air Forces Band during World War II.
Tickets are required.
Tickets may be obtained one of three ways: In person at the museum, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; online by a form from www.surveymonkey.com/s/concert150508; or by calling 937-255-5924 or 937-255-7207.
Those requesting tickets must provide their name, phone number, mailing address, and the number of tickets they would like mailed to them. The limit is four tickets per person, and they will be mailed beginning April 10.

Chamber of commerce to sponsor shredding event
The Yellow Springs Chamber will sponsor Shred It Yellow Springs, in conjunction with the Glen Helen Earth Day Celebration, on April 18.
The organization is sponsoring the event to help villagers protect against identity theft by safely disposing of paperwork.
Bring your personal documents, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, to the Glen Helen Corry Street parking lot.
Glen Helen will be collecting batteries, electronics, fluorescent bulbs.

City, students to plant trees for Arbor Day
The City of Xenia Tree Committee will be celebrating Arbor Day by partnering with first- and fifth-grade students from Cox Elementary School by planting a tree at Franklin Park, 594 Dayton Ave., Xenia, beginning at 10 a.m., Friday, April 24.
The tree — a Plantanus x ‘Exclamation’ — is being donated by committee member Bob Moore of Listerman & Associates.
Students will be assisting in planting the tree to replace an ash tree fatally impacted by the Emerald Ash Borer or EAB. The large ash tree had to be removed by the City of Xenia for safety reasons.
