UPDATE @ 10:20 p.m.: The description of the man who robbed the Dollar General in Kettering tonight is similar to the man described in the robberies of four other area stores in six days, police Lt. Lee Sanders said, but Kettering police "don't have anything else to connect to the other ones."

Sanders said the robber came in about 8 p.m., displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

An employee at a nearby business said he saw the robber. This news organization is not identifying the employee by name or the business because the robber remains on the loose.

“I noticed a guy in all black run right past the store and peek back,” the employee said. “It’s a scary thought that someone is armed and running through the streets just robbing stores.”

INITIAL REPORT
