How to see John Legend in Dayton this week

Springfield’s favorite son will be in Dayton this weekend.

John Legend — the first black man in history and one of the youngest to win an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards) — will make an appearance at the Dakota Center, 33 Barnett St. in Dayton, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.

Legend's visit will be in support of Democrats running for election on the ballot  Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Democrats will be canvasing the area Sunday between noon and 9 p.m. to rally supporters.

The Dakota Center serves as a meeting place.

Legend is best known for a long list of  songs that includes “All of Me,” “Ordinary People,” “Save Room,” “Green Light” and “Tonight.”

The Springfield native frequently visits the area and has stomped for candidates here in the past.

Legend is expected to make a 11:30 a.m. stop at 4900 Smith Road in Norwood, and at 4 p.m. at  George Washington Carver High School, 2200 E 55th St. in Cleveland.

Legend will discuss expanding economic opportunity and protecting access to quality, affordable health care.
