A Catfish Fish and Chicken restaurant is gearing up to open in a former Huber Heights Pizza Hut shop at 6020 Old Troy Pike.

A locally owned restaurant is gearing up to open on Old Troy Pike near Fishburg Road in Huber Heights, in space that previously housed a Pizza Hut restaurant that shut its doors last fall, according to Huber Heights officials and the new restaurant’s founder.

Emad Tuama of West Carrollton has worked at other restaurants, but “Catfish Fish and Chicken” at 6020 Old Troy Pike will be his first solo venture, Tuama said in a phone interview.

If all goes well, the new restaurant could open in the next four to six weeks, the restaurant’s founder said. It will employ five or six people and will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Farther north on Old Troy Pike, near I-70, two other restaurants are in the works: Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Starbucks.
