You can get a free taste of the newest Thai restaurant at its grand opening this week

***UPDATE (Feb. 28, 2020)***

Shortly before 2019 ended, two Thai restaurants opened within a two-week span on almost opposite ends of Kettering, and now, one of those restaurants has scheduled a formal grand opening that will include free samples of some of its most popular menu items.

Thai Street Noodles, 5844 Bigger Road in south Kettering, will host a ribbon-cutting with Kettering city officials as part of its grand opening from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, according to the restaurant's founder, Pirom Tintong, who also owns Nida Thai Cuisine in Centerville.

The grand-opening event will include no-cost samples of several dishes on the restaurant’s menu, the restaurant’s owner said.

Thai Street Noodles is located adjacent to the former Marco’s Pizza shop, just north of Seajax Tavern. The Bigger Road space previously housed KH Empire Asian Restaurant, which shut down in early 2019.

Tintong and his family opened Nida Thai Cuisine in April 2015 on Franklin Street just east of Centerville High School.

***ORIGINAL STORY (Dec. 16, 2019)***

A new Thai restaurant — the second to open in Kettering in two weeks — made its official debut on Dec. 15.

Thai Street Noodles is located at 5844 Bigger Road next to Marco's Pizza, just north of Seajax Tavern in south Kettering. The Bigger Road space previously housed KH Empire Asian Restaurant, which shut down in early 2019. The new restaurant is the second location for founder Pirom Tintong, who also operates Nida Thai Cuisine in Centerville.

The menu of Thai Street Noodles will have some similarities with Nida Thai  Cuisine, but it will not be identical, Tintong said.

Thai Street Noodles “will serve varieties of noodles and will also serve popular dishes from Nida Thai,” Tintong told this news outlet this morning in October.

“Our main focus will be to introduce the popular and world famous Street Noodles of Thailand, which are fresh, tasty, healthy and affordable,” Tintong said.

Just a few weeks prior to this opening, Singha Thai Homestyle Thai Food opened in the Town & Country Shopping Center near Stroop Road and Far Hills Avenue. There is no connection between Singha Thai and Thai Street Noodles.

Thai Street Noodles’ hours are Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. The new restaurant will host a grand opening sometime after the new year, Tintong said.

Tintong and his family opened Nida Thai Cuisine in April 2015 on Franklin Street just east of Centerville High School.
