NEW: Pole fire leads to DP&L power outages in Greene, Montgomery counties

(UPDATE @ 11:45 p.m.): A pole fire reportedly in Beavercreek led to the power outages that affected DP&L customers in Greene and Montgomery counties for several hours tonight, spokesman Kevin Hall said.

“We’re not quite sure what happened to cause that fire,” he said.

Customers began reporting outages just after 8 p.m. DP&L’s online map was showing 1,280 outages then.

At 11:45 p.m., the outage map showed the following:

  • 103 Montgomery
  • 8 Greene

Approximately 1,500 Dayton Power & Light customers in Greene and Montgomery counties are without power Tuesday night.

There have been storms in the area. We’re also hearing of a fire at a power pole in Beavercreek.

At 8:30 p.m., the DP&L online outage map reported the following outages:

  • 1298 in Greene
  • 215 in Montgomery
  • 6 in Miami
  • 1 in Warren
