Kettering man pleads guilty to making child porn

A Kettering man pleaded guilty to producing child pornography in the U.S. District Court.

Matthew Jones, 44, had hundreds of images of him sexually abusing two 3-three-old girls in 2003 and 2009, according to the Department of Justice.

Jones also reportedly used file sharing programs to get and view videos of toddlers and young children being sexually abused.

He was indicted by a federal grand jury in January.

His plea also involved charges in Greene County Common Pleas Court and Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Charges included:

  • Rape of a person under age 13 in Greene County
  • Rape of a person under age 13 in Montgomery County
  • Two counts of sexual battery in Montgomery County
  • Gross sexual imposition in Montgomery County

The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office recommended Jones receive 15 years to life in prison.

The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office recommended he receive 20 years to life in prison.

Jones will serve the sentences at the same time.

Each federal count of producing child pornography carries a 15- to 30-year prison sentence, according to the DOJ.
