Kettering restaurant to shut down Aug. 30

The OinkADoodleMoo Barbecue restaurant at 3910 Far Hills Ave. in Kettering will shut down Aug. 30, but its owner says he is still looking for other sites in Kettering to reopen.

OinkADoodleMoo Chief Operating Officer Steve Meyer said the Kettering restaurant’s five-year lease is expiring, and he was unable to come to terms with the property’s landlord on a lease extension.

The closing will leave three OinkADoodleMoo restaurants: in the Randolph Plaza in Clayton, in the KeyBank Tower in downtown Dayton, and in Richmond, Ind. A franchise location in Huber Heights closed earlier this year.

Meyer said he is in talks to return an OinkADoodleMoo mobile unit to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. And the downtown Dayton restaurant recently expanded its hours: rather than closing at 2:30 p.m., the KeyBank Tower location is now open until 7 p.m. on weekdays. OinkADoodleMoo also will continue to offer catering from its existing restaurants, Meyer said.

OinkADoodleMoo was founded in 2009 with the opening of an Englewood restaurant that relocated to the Randolph Plaza last year.
