Kroger store robbed in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TWP., Montgomery County — Sheriff deputies are searching for three suspects who forced a Kroger employee at gunpoint to open the grocery store’s safe.

The robbery happened shortly after midnight Friday at the Kroger store at 3520 W. Siebenthaler Ave., according to Montgomery County Sheriff Sgt. Troy Bodine.

A preliminary investigation suggests that three males armed with handguns entered the store and ordered an employee to open the store’s safe. The employee complied and the suspects fled through a back door with an undetermined amount of cash.

The description of the suspects included one of the suspects wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and white shorts. Another suspect was believed to be wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts. There was no description of the third suspect.

In the meantime, Kettering police are also investigating an incident that took place early Friday at a Kroger store on Stroop Road, according to Kettering Police Officer Michael Burke.

The details of that incident were not immediately available.
