State Sen. Peggy Lehner (R-Kettering) will visit Greenmont Elementary School Friday to speak with staff and students about the school’s pilot project for the Children’s Hunger Alliance. She chairs the Ohio Senate’s Education Committee.
The project, “Grab ‘N Go,” provides an alternative to the traditional breakfast in the cafeteria, allowing students to pick up their breakfast in the lobby of the school as they arrive and take the meal to their classroom, where they can eat it.
The goals are to encourage more students to eat a nutritious breakfast and to arrive in class on time to start the day. TERRY MORRIS
