Footlighters unravel mystery in ‘The Mousetrap’ production

The Fairfield Footlighters opened its theater season Oct. 1 with the Agatha Christie play “The Mousetrap” on Oct. 1. The show centers around guests staying at a hotel after being snowed in. A murder has occurred in a nearby town, and a detective comes to the hotel to warn guests the murderer may be headed that way.

Before they can protect themselves, one guest is killed.

“There is a connection between some people in the house and a murder investigation I’m conducting,” said Zachary Hornberger, a sophomore at Miami University who plays the role of the detective. “When someone dies, evidence shows that the murderer is already in the house.”

Producer Jim Davis said the show is “extremely entertaining,” one of the many reasons this play was chosen as part of the Footlighters’ production lineup.

“The Mousetrap” continues at 8 p.m. today, Oct. 8 and Saturday, Oct. 9. There is also a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for students and seniors with ID. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at www.fairfield-city.org/cac.
