“Dr. Nantz is herself the daughter of a World War II veteran. He passed away a year ago, but he taught her to have a real soft spot for veterans,” said Bonnie Lyons, office manager for the dental practice.
The “Leave no vet behind” event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call the office at 937-433-0110. Veterans must bring their DD214 cards.
“Virtually anything that can be done in an hour-long appointment,” Lyons said. In the past, the practice has done extractions, cleanings, fillings, and oral cancer screenings for veterans, among other things.
Local businesses have taken to donating flowers, gift certificates and refreshments for veterans who make appointments.
“Reception has been unbelievable,” Lyons said. “The veterans are so appreciative … that’s what makes her want to do it again another year.”
