Local liquor options on May 6 Ballot

On Tuesday, voters in Precinct 3-B of the city of Clayton will be asked whether the sale of alcohol should be permitted by El Granito De Oro, L.L.C.

The business owns La Fiesta Restaurant at 8331 N. Main St. and is an applicant for a D-5 and a D-6 liquor permit, according to the Montgomery County Board of Elections.

Voters will also be asked whether alcohol should be sold between the hours of 11 a.m. Sunday to midnight.

Both issue questions will be under Clayton 3-B Local Option on the ballot.

“Using a 5-R petition, the proprietor gathers signatures in their particular precinct and if enough signatures are gathered, the question or questions are put on the ballot for the precinct to decide the issue,” said David Owens of the board’s Campaign Finance division. KELLI WYNN
