“Most of the people on there we don’t know,” she said in an interview.
“We are deeply saddened over the loss of our precious 5-year-old son, Joseph,” the family said in a statement.
“We appreciate the outpouring of support we have received from the community and we ask that people respect Joseph’s memory.”
The Joseph James Marotta Fund has been set up at the National City Bank, 1490 W. Dorothy Lane in Kettering.
He tested positive for H1N1 and was diagnosed with pneumonia, but the official cause of death has yet to be determined. Marotta died Oct. 18.
