Hobart Arena open for holiday ice skating

Troy’s Hobart Arena will offer holiday public ice skating sessions through Thursday.

Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for those 14 and under, and $4 for seniors (age 60 and older). Skate rental is $2.50.

Hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. today through Thursday.

Troy Main Street to start contest for shoppers

The Troy Main Street program will introduce a Win the Window on Main and Market contest Jan. 1.

In the program, participating downtown business will provide contest entry tickets to shoppers who spend $10 or more in the business. For each $10 spend, an entry will be placed in the hopper at the ABC Community Connection Center.

Drawings will be held Jan. 9, 16 and 23 with one name selected each day to win a prize from a downtown business worth at least $25. On Jan. 30, the final ticket will be drawn with the winner receiving prizes valued at more than $3,000. The donated prizes will be display in the Connection Center window.

PIQUA

YWCA collecting cellphones for abuse victims

The YWCA Piqua is collecting cellphones for donation to the Miami County Family Abuse Shelter.

Phone can be dropped off at the YWCA, 418 N. Wayne St. in Piqua. All personal information should be cleared from the phone and the charger included, if possible.

The donated phones can be reprogrammed to 911 and given to victims of domestic violence.
