Miami regional campus dean finalists to meet public

3 men are in competition for post.

OXFORD — The three finalists for Miami University’s dean of its regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown and the Voice of American Learning Center in West Chester Twp. will begin meeting the public this week.

The locations of the meetings are the same, though the times differ.

The university announced open sessions as follows:

• Michael Pratt: 3:45-3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 142 Johnston Hall, Miami University Middletown; 2:15-3:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, Harry T. Wilks Conference Center Conference Room AB, Miami University Hamilton.

Pratt is associate vice president for academic affairs at Heidelberg University. Pratt, a Middletown native, attended Miami University Middletown and graduated from the Oxford campus in 1973.

• David Pearson: 3:15-4:15 p.m. Feb. 17, MUH; 3:15-4:15 p.m. Feb. 18, MUM.

Pearson is special assistant to the provost of the University of Texas Brownsville.

• Kevin Corcoran: Times to be announced.

Corcoran is professor of the department of psychological science at Northern Kentucky University. He worked at the University of Cincinnati as the head of the psychology department.

Miami University President David Hodge called the candidates “very strong finalists with different types of experience, but they’re all very experienced administrators.”

Hodge said the candidates’ letters of interest and resumes are posted at muohio.edu/secretary.
