The power outages affecting more than 2,000 DP&L customers were first reported at 10:05 p.m., with service originally expected to be restored by midnight, according to the DP&L online outage map. This estimate was pushed back more than once as of 3:45 a.m., when it was set at 4 a.m., but has since been moved back again.
DP&L officials said that the outage was originally caused by a car crashing into a pole in the 900 block of Salem Avenue, and they were confident that power would be restored by 8 a.m.
As of 3:45 a.m., 221 people are without power in Montgomery County. As of 12:15 p.m., there were 379 outages. As of 11:15 p.m., there were 807 outages. At 11 p.m., there were 2,040 without power.
