“When I first started I began small, designing for a few weddings and making some wreaths and flower arrangements,” Agnew said. “Space was tight. I needed more room because I needed a cooler for the flowers and my supplies.”
Before striking out on her own, Agnew was a floral designer for Rose Cottage, a former business in Waynesville. To enhance her talents, Agnew attended the David Curtis School of Floral Design in Centerville.
Not long after, she quit to work full time in the mortgage department at National City. After six years, she quit to tend to her ailing father.
She then decided to return to her passion — floral design.
Agnew and her husband, Tom, decided to rent space in Waynesville.
Bella Garden Florals is open Wednesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shop is closed Monday and Tuesday. Sunday hours vary, but the shop will be open during Waynesville’s Christmas in the Village celebration.
