A natural gas leak prompted the shutdown Friday evening of a road and evacuation of homes near Centerville.

The gas leak was reported at 5:35 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Centerville Station, according to Centerville police, which provides emergency dispatch services for Washington Twp.

There were no reports of injuries, and Vectren has been called to the scene.
