New Archer’s Tavern in Kettering hiring, hopes to open Oct. 10

Archer's Tavern is targeting a possible opening date of Oct. 10 for its second location in Kettering and is in hiring mode, its co-founder said today.

“We have hired approximately 40 team members and anticipate hiring an additional 60 to 70 prior to opening,” Archer’s co-founder Dan Apolito said. “We are also looking for a few team members for our Centerville location to replace some of our employees who will transfer from the original Archer’s to the Kettering location.”

Archer’s is conducting open interviews from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at its not-yet-open Kettering location at 2030 E. Dorothy Lane. At the Centerville location at 9496 Dayton Lebanon Pike (Ohio 48), which celebrated its 6th year in business in June, sit-down interviews are available between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Apolito said.

The projected Oct. 10 opening date for the Kettering location “could change depending on final construction and inspections,” Apolito said.

The new Archer’s will occupy space that formerly held a Tumbleweed Southwest Grill at East Dorothy Lane and Woodman Center Drive. The building has been vacant since Tumbleweed closed in January 2014. Contractors were busily working on both the interior and exterior of the restaurant Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 6.

The new Archer’s will seat about 200 and will employ about 80. It will feature 24 craft beer taps, including two signature Archer’s brews, Archer’s Ale and Stone House Lager. The space also has an enclosed patio that can be used year-round.
