The building will consist of six businesses, including a dental office, at the large shopping complex that includes Kohl’s and Target, South Lebanon Mayor James Smith said.
“We have been advised that four of the tenants have been fixed and we’re just waiting for announcements. This should be a busy place with commercial construction by spring,” Smith said. “We’ll have more places here to make purchases of food, products and services and, these new businesses will provide job opportunities for our residents. It’s a win-win for everybody.”
The village is waiting for Cincinnati-based Midland Atlantic developers to resubmit plans along with taps fees to village administrator for final approval.
Developers would then submit finalized plans to county for a building permit, according to village officials.
Chick-fil-A recently purchased an outlot parcel for construction in Rivers Crossing Pavilion. Chick-fil-A's plans call for a 4,596-square-foot facility with interior seating to accommodate 136 patrons and exterior accommodations for 60 percent of business expected to come by way of drive-through trade, according to officials.
“That’s good news. When Chick-fil-A decided to be property owner in the village instead of a tenant, it became a long-term commitment to the village,” Smith said..
In addition, a White Castle restaurant approved earlier by village officials and slated for an adjacent outlot in the retail center recently advertised for construction bids, according to the mayor.
“White Castle representatives notified me of the bids,” he said. “This tells me they are wanting to build. Their permits have all been approved and issued. And, with Chick-fil-A’s purchase of the land, that tells me they are ready to move forward, too.”
