The Miami County Park District is showing off new recycling bins obtained thanks to a 2013 Dr. Pepper Snapple Group/Keep America Beautiful Park Recycling Bin Grant.
The grant program, in its first year, was designed to establish or expand recycling opportunities in different park settings from neighborhood parks with playgrounds or athletic fields to regional parks with trails and natural settings.
Thirty five grants were awarded to state and local governments in 22 states. The Miami County Park District received 10 new recycling bins. They were placed in parks across the county. NANCY BOWMAN, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
