BBQ restaurant to offer 50% off everything this weekend for its anniversary

The independent and locally owned Flyby BBQ restaurant that opened last February at the Mall at Fairfield will celebrate one year of its bricks-and-mortar presence with a one-day "half off literally everything" offer, according to Flyby's founder, David Butcher.

Butcher called the Flyby BBQ 1-year Anniversary Event to be held Sunday, Feb. 23, "a huge THANK YOU to the community here in Dayton."

“Bring your friends, bring your family, and grub out!” Butcher wrote. “It's bound to get really busy, so please be patient with our staff.”

The restaurant’s regular Sunday promotion, a “Kids Eat Free” offer, will not be available on the Feb. 23 anniversary, and the half-off discount will not be available on party packs or catering orders.

Butcher told this news outlet that the restaurant has “been able to reach more customers than ever,” serving more than 100,000 meals in 2019.

“It's been incredibly rewarding and heartwarming to see the response from the community,” Butcher said.

Recent additions to the menu include a loaded baked potato salad, smoked wings and green beans, Butcher said. Flyby also offers a new happy hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily and all day Friday, with bottled beer available for $2 and craft-cocktail pouches for $6.

Flyby is located between Fusian and Bravo Cucina Italiana near the Mall at Fairfield Commons’ front entrance. It is a “fast-casual” barbecue restaurant with a build-your-own-meal ordering system similar to Chipotle or Subway. The business got its start as a food truck prior to opening the Fairfield Commons restaurant.
