Judge suspends Pike County murder suspect’s jail privileges

UPDATE @ 3 p.m.:

A Pike County murder suspect has lost jail privileges after she reportedly violated a gag order to not contact other co-defendants about the case.

A judge suspended Angela Wagner’s telephone and mail privileges in jail during a hearing Monday.

Prosecutors claimed that they have recordings of the suspect talking to her son, Edward “Jake” Wagner, and mother, Rita Jo Newcomb. Both are also charged in the case.

Angela Wagner is still able to call or mail her attorneys under the order.

INITIAL REPORT:

One of the four people accused of murdering eight members of the Rhoden family in Pike County is scheduled to have a hearing today.

Angela Wagner is scheduled to be in Pike County Common Pleas Court this afternoon.

Angela Wager, as well as her husband, George “Billy” Wagner III, and adult sons, Edward “Jake” Wagner and George Wagner IV, have all been charged with eight counts of aggravated murder; one count conspiracy; four counts aggravated burglary; one count unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance; three counts evidence tampering, and one count each of forgery, unauthorized use of property, interception of wire, oral or electronic communication, obstructing justice and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges in November.

Angela Wagner’s mother, Rita Jo Newcomb, is accused of helping cover up the killings.
