Ha Ha Pizza opens location in Xenia

Ha Ha Pizza — a longtime Yellow Springs fixture — opened a new store on East Main Street this week, marking its second location in the area.

The owner of the pizzeria, Billy Walters Jr., said the store had a soft opening and is serving pizza, but it is not fully operational at this time.

“We’re slowly building up the menu, and there’s some equipment needs that we need to fulfill in order to get everything up to the same level as the other store in Yellow Springs,” he said.

Walters said he decided to open another store in Xenia because of its proximity to Yellow Springs.

“The geographic location of my other store, it was just far enough away to not hurt the sales of that store but also close enough that everyone’s heard of my store,” he said.

Walters said another factor in his decision was the city also offers events similar to those in Yellow Springs.

“I can see here that the folks here in town are trying to revitalize the downtown area,” he said. “I look at this as getting in on the ground floor of that.”

Walters said he plans to hold a grand opening for the new pizzeria within the next couple of months.

“We are thrilled that Ha Ha Pizza is open and serving in Xenia,” said Xenia Development Director Steve Brodsky. “Bringing additional dining options to the downtown is one of our major goals, and it is always a plus when it is a locally owned restaurant. With the recent opening of Soular Flare and the anticipated opening of a permanent location of One Bistro, we are quickly gaining a diversity of excellent dining options in downtown Xenia, and hope to continue to add more.”
